RAVE: Skinfood’s Hydro Fitting Snail Mask Sheet

I haven’t posted in a month, and I’m so, so sorry. I feel terribly guilty to admit that I went through a brief season of skin neglect, doing the bare minimum or sometimes skipping the routine altogether. I’ve noticed since my k-beauty journey started three years ago that this happens periodically. I can understand why, too — doing the routine takes energy, time, and care, and sometimes I’m just lazy and I don’t want to do it despite how good it is for me. Kind of like eating well and exercising! I’m not sure why humans work this way, but talking to others it seems like they all suffer from the same weird backwards traction.

Anyway, today I used a new mask I had never used before, and it was enough to rattle me out of my ennui and drive me to write something. So you know it HAD to be good. It’s the Skinfood Hydro Fitting Snail Mask Sheet, which I got as a part of a care package from a dear friend. I’ve been working on recovering my skincare lately and just traveled last weekend so I’m still trying to cast off the icky dryness of stale airplane air, but this really did the trick! Here’s how I looked after using this baby.

Yeah! Such glow!

This mask is LIFE for the dry-skinned. I noticed the material was nice and thick right out of the package, not gloppy like the jelly masks, but heavy with product. The product itself also had excellent consistency, so just enough came off in my hands to pat into my neck and décolleté. The majority of it stayed where it belonged — in the mask. Fit was good too, not gigantic, but just enough left over to fold slightly over my chin.

I wore this sucker for a solid 45 minutes and it was still soaked. That is SO IMPRESSIVE to me. A lot of masks dry out as they deliver their goodness, as you all know, but this one really stood up to the challenge of my sad dry face and more. Then I took it off and was wowed by the results. You could never tell that I hadn’t done my full routine enough this week! This mask is a must-have for emergencies.

I would have happily paid $10 a pop for this mask because it’s so effective, but the best part of all is that you can buy a five-pack of these for less than nine bucks. THAT IS INSANE. I have never really gotten on the Skinfood train as the Black Sugar Mask never did it for me, but I am so on it now. Let me know in the comments if you have any other Skinfood products you adore, as I am all about trying more of them now. This mask impressed me so completely that I am ready to invest in more of what they offer!

Their little Honey Pot lip balms are awesome to put on right before bed, especially if you’re putting an overnight lip treatment on over it, to lock in all that goodness. Plus, it comes with a tiny honey dipper applicator, and it couldn’t be more adorable it it tried.
